Megan Compton has been in the equine industry for over 20 years.  During this time she worked as a barn manager for a 3 Day Event Rider who was short listed for the Olympics before being hand picked by Linda Parelli to join the teaching Faculty at the Parelli University campuses in Colorado and Florida.  There she was introduced to Walter Zettl and developed a true love for the art of Dressage.  After her time with Parelli, Megan returned to her family owned farm and started Hope Valley Farm, teaming up with Indian Land Farm Hanoverians to develop dressage horses from the time they're weaned into their competitive careers.  For the past 10 years, Megan has cultivated relationships with trainers in an effort to prioritize her education.  She has been able to learn from Walter Zettl, Karen and David O'Connor, Debbie MacDonald, Courtney King-Dye, Jeremy Steinberg, Gunnar Ostergaard, Janet Foy, JJ Tate, Sarah Lockman, and Charles de Kunffy.  Merging the two worlds of natural and classical and developing clarity in how to correctly train the horse without sacrificing their dignity or losing their innate personality along the way has become Megan's mission.

Along the way, Megan has developed several horses from weanlings to Third Level and beyond.  She gained her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals on horses she raised and trained herself.  A few years ago, Megan completed the USDF L Program and graduated "With Distinction".

Megan has serious goals in the competition arena.  With the vision of developing a horse from the time its weaned all the way to the Olympic stage, she will continue to pursue the elite levels of Dressage while continuing to uphold her personal standards, and allowing each horse she develops to feel appreciated and find joy in their careers.
